The Island

Tina and I watched this over the weekend again. We'd watched it before, but Stephanie said she wanted to watch it, so we put it back in our Netflix queue and when it showed up, decided to give it another watch. I like this movie. I know there are parts of it that are impractical (even in sci-fi land) and it's not exactly the /best/ movie out there, but I like it nonetheless. And so does Tina. And Steph. It's refreshing seeing Ewan being directed by someoine other than Lucas and actually delivering a decent performance. Scarlett isn't bad either, though her role wasn't really that critical to the plot. My only gripe with this film is that this is exactly the kind of 'future gone wrong' story that so many people seem to think we need to ensure doesn't happen that we end up banning all stem cell research and anything else that might even remotely lead to this film happening. A note to the idiots in Washington: the last part of sci-fi is short for fiction.
