Super Paper Mario

I've been playing this game since this past weekend and holding off blogging about it until I got past the first Pure Heart. I've now gotten past that hurdle, so here's my opinion of the game. It's, um, chatty. Very chatty. I don't think I've ever had to click through so much "conversation" in a game in my life. And it's fairly inane conversation at that. Ugh. Other than that, the game is fun. It's certainly not an "OMG! Cool." kind of game though. Having to switch characters as well as Pixls seems like something that was added w/o thought to the actual gameplay. So does having to switch positions of the Wiimote to activate the Pixl's powers. As for switching from 2-D to 3-D? It's neat, but gimmicky. I find that I spend more time flipping back-and-forth to make sure I don't effing miss something than I do actually /playing/ the game. Which gets old. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the game a lot, and it's definetely one of the best 'platformers' for the Wii to date. It's just not quite as cool as I thought it would have been based on the commercials and buzz.
